Description

There's a module for that

This looks like our best bet:

Other Comment Rating Solutions

Vote Up/Down is a worthy effort to (among many other things) rate comments straight up or down (definitely better than one through five) but the project is orphaned and development stopped, in progress, at Drupal 5.

Comment Bury/Promote had a development release recently (2008 August, we checked in September). And it supports disemvoweling, so how can you go wrong?

Drupal 6 comment rating

For Drupal 6, I think this module:
http://drupal.org/project/fivestarextra
would be the best choice. It integrates with the popular fivestar module.
