Description

Following the Node Profile Package Step by Step Tutorial pretty much step-by-step.

  1. Created "profile" content type, checked off "Use this content type as a nodeprofile for users" and also (although I'm sure it's redundant) made sure maximum population ("Maximum number of nodes of this content type per user. Enter 0 for no limit.") was set to 1.
  2. Disabled comments and file attachments, unchecked Promote to front page, and checked off Create new revision. Set multilingual support to Normal - All enabled languages will be allowed.
  3. At Administer » Content Management » Content Types » Profile, Node profile tab ( admin/content/types/profile/nodeprofile ) we selected:
    • Integrate this node profile with user categories.
If selected this node profile's form will appear as a new category at the "My Account" - "Edit" pages, just like the profile.module.
    • Show this node profile during user registration.
    • Display Settings: Display it as full node view
    • Include an edit link to the display
    • Include an add link to the display if they haven't yet.
If selected and the user has no profile of this type yet, a link to add one is shown on the user page.
  4. At Administer » Content Management » Content Types » Profile, Edit tab (admin/content/types/profile) we set:
    • Maximum number of locations allowed for this type.: 1
    • Default number of location forms: 1
    • Left it "Collapsible: Make the location box collapsible."
    • Made it expanded, unchecking "Collapsed
      Display the location box collapsed."
    • No option to, unchecked, "Add another location from node view page"
  5. Location fields:
    • Location names: Do not collect location names (e.g. place of business) for this node type.
    • Street locations: Do not collect a street location for content of this type.
    • City names: Allow city names to be submitted for content of this type.
    • State/Province names: Allow state/province names to be submitted for content of this type.
    • Postal codes: Allow postal codes to be submitted for content of this type.
    • Country names: Allow country names to be submitted for content of this type.
  6. If you're using this with Organic Groups, which is the WSF2008 way, be sure to get over to Administer » Organic groups » Organic groups configuration (admin/og/og)
